Like, absolutely zero recognition of the underlying issues. Zero recognition that the country is rushing toward fascism and REAL PHYSICAL THREATS to marginalized people - And absolutely ZERO candidates have a _FUCKING PLAN TO COMBAT THAT_.
Also, zero recognition that the Democrats have utterly lost the youth vote, because they've consistently *shit* on the youth for daring to act in the interest of a better future, and they've utterly minimized the youth's horror at ongoing genocide. And they don't win without the youth vote.

Like, look - I'm sorry to go on and on about this, and spam your timelines.
But the fact remains that there's not even any MENTION from the democratic party about what's going to be done about an opposition that continues to break the rules, act in bad faith, and utterly block any attempt at progress. The democrats have had the power of the White House for Four Fucking Years at this point, and done *nothing* to combat the real and very visible threats that these asshole fascists have subjected us to.
How can they not understand how demoralizing that is? How can they not understand that we see their inaction and their petty attempts to cling to power and status, and not think that they're completely out of touch?
Don't get me wrong - This isn't an endorsement of their opponents in the least. But it is saying that the writing is on the wall, even now.
The fascists are going to win in November, and the Democrats will be shocked for about a day. Then they'll shrug, laugh it off, and say "Well, better luck in four years, right?" While people get rounded up into deportation camps (WHICH IS A DAY ONE PROMISE FROM THE GOP - NOT AN EXAGGERATION).

@Phorm Have I recommended Beau of the Fifth Column on Youtube? He's posted some VERY reassuring stuff lately, and one of his recent videos covers some recent leaks that indicate the DNC definitely has plans to counter Trump-- they are just wisely keeping a low profile. Whether those measures are sufficient or competent, only time will tell and I do share your cynicism-- but I can promise you they *do* exist, hun. It's a tactical move. <3

I'm sorry to be so dour and frustrated, but most of the spaces I'm used to peering in on to get level and reasonable political commentary have been largely subsumed in believing the Emperor's New Clothes are *really* quite stylish.
I don't want to put anything on you with regard to obligations, but in the moment I'm happy for any hope available. I'll see if I can't dig into the content on Beau's channel, too.

@ThatGenieProblem @Phorm Yeah, I will say that Biden refusing ANY notion of putting the country before his ego has reversed most of the optimism I was getting from the surprise wins in the UK and France. Their good guys won in both cases because of a strong alliance between far-left and center-left and... nope, we're gonna be Americans about this one. *smirk*

@Phorm I want see some fight in a Dem candidate. These are not business as usual times, a sizable chunk of the nation's population is under a direct threat to be declared sub-citizens and all they can do is tell us to vote.
That doesn't work if the refs are working for the other side. Start using the levers of power to force the issue, don't just sit there and expect us to do it all. We can't, we'll get arrested or worse.
