I think we're more conscious of the passage of diegetic time in TTRPGs and fiction than a lot of people are. We find it a bit uncomfortable when, say, a conversation happens in the middle of something else when there really isn't time for it.
@packbat We definitely notice particularly egregious examples of it, though minor ones don't seem to bother us much.
