griping about medical insurance and ostomy stuff, gross-adjacent, swears, long (--)
there's basically three main brands of ostomy supplies. couple of 'em own sub-brands but. still mostly those three. I'm just gonna call 'em A, B, and C, b/c I'm sure as heck not naming them.
I've got very little experience with B. I've heard they're ok but they've got some confusing labeling. Not really relevant besides switching from one brand to another is annoying.
I've got experience with both A and C, though. A is high-quality, but also more expensive. They've been the most reliable for me, they stick the best, they leak the least, I can push one of them for about 6 days, ish.
C is bottom tier trash. not all that much cheaper but defo the lowest quality.
Guess which one of the two (A and C) is the only one my insurance will cover???
So I found one of C's sub-brands that... works. okish. But fucks sake. The plastic on the bags de-laminates from any amount of wear. The seal between the bag and my body is made up of a couple of layers and two of those layers fall apart under any decent amount of heat - like, I dunno, *body temperature*. I've had more leaks and annoyances since switching to C than I'd had in a long time and it's really pissing me off.
