Going to be streaming some _Enter the Gungeon_ in… probably like 30–45 minutes after doing another thing? My bitrate is going to be horrible for an action game (I've only got ~1 Mbps up…), but I just… feel like this has to be a thing.
It's the right kind of game, it's the right kind of theme, today is being forced to be mostly a free day. I might as well let people watch, yes?
Otherwise you just end up by yourself and the game world ends up rather bleak and unhappy. You can reset, but the character starts out pretty badly disposed to whatever kind of identity you were assuming before.
(Fortunately I didn't end up quite that bad, I forgot to pause when I went off which the game interpreted as giving them the 'silent treatment' but I was able to retcon it into accidentally falling asleep and didn't make the same mistake again.)
Odd but pleasant dream: Playing an 'open world' video game where you follow the main character around (or alternatively get the main character to follow you around) exploring, doing chores, meeting other people, etc. You can be whatever you want and the game completely buys into your identity, and the world shifts from realistic to magical or even cartoonish depending on how you play. The only required condition is that you have to be a /good friend/ to the main character.

Just tried #brutaldon ( https://github.com/jfmcbrayer/brutaldon/ ) -- it's a lightweight Mastodon web frontend that doesn't require Javascript and so it supports Lynx, w3m etc. Or, it just works in Firefox and Chrome without using a bunch of RAM maybe? If you like the sound of these things: it does these things.
