ancient Egyptian spirituality (so death) (cool stuff +)
I'm watching a documentary about ancient Egyptian tombs. One huge tomb they were showing had extensive murals. These murals were full of names, repeated chants, narratives, and illustrations of the deceased in the afterlife. The narrator explained, "None of these are left up to chance. Nothing here is just a pretty bit of decoration. Every bit of it means something. It's like a machine, keeping the deceased alive."
Oh... it's a spiritual computer program...!!
That would definitely put it in a class with I Ching divination or a prayer wheel, but something about it especially reminds me of these cyber rituals, h.exe: https://porpentine.tumblr.com/post/106011179938/hexe and Porpentine's trans cyber ritual (which doesn't seem to be online anymore, the link for it is dead).
