macro, fatfur, sillypost
It's #MacroMarch, time for big sergals! ... Wait what do you mean I keep the weight at the end of the month?!
I find beauty in the world, in other people, in the places where people bring the stories of others into themselves, and give those stories new life.
The only perspective of the world I'm capable of is the one in my own head.
It's silly to think that I can fit everything Real into it.
However, I can take in stories, and reconcile them with my own.
Telling ourselves that *we* have the "actual truth" of the way things are is just another part of that story. How would you feel if that weren't true? Why is the story of the world that you believe you can survive in, one in which everyone else, or almost everyone else is wrong?
I seek out other people's stories. In so doing, I seek to find the places where my story and their story can overlap. In so doing I seek beauty and joy.
It's okay for others to be wrong.
It's okay for me to be wrong.
Our understanding of the world is a story we tell ourselves about the way things are and how we fit into it all. We tell ourselves a story of the world which is one we can live with, that we can survive believing.
Changing how we see the world, taking responsibility for our place in it, can be difficult because it can be hard to find a new story that we can live with, where we have power to change things.
I hope to help other people find that story, and make it a good one.
You're not alone
Just a friendly reminder: Dutch cycling lanes are used for commuting and as an actual way of transport this is something tourists mostly don't understand when they're taking selfies standing on the bike lane or trying to ride a bike when they don't know how to cycle. You're not doing those things on a regular highway either right
how transphobia is described in the news and why that makes us not trust journalists
do you know what this kind of framing does?
it's not "remaining neutral"
it's painting our struggles and complaints as not real or worthy of consideration
how transphobia is described in the news and why that makes us not trust journalists
spreading rhetoric like this fucks us over and gets more of us killed every single day and we're goddamn tired of it
how transphobia is described in the news and why that makes us not trust journalists
it's never reported on as "transphobia"
it's always "alleged transphobia" or "comments that have been described as transphobic"
i can count the number of news articles that had the guts to actually label transphobia for what it was on one hand
gee, i wonder why the trans community largely doesn't trust journalists lol
ADHD is having every childhood authority figure tell you you’re gifted and have such potential, but you’re wasting it by being too lazy, spacey, selfish, or failing to “apply” yourself.
