"Finding yourself" is not really how it works. You aren't a ten-dollar bill in last winter's coat pocket. You are also not lost. Your true self is right there, buried under cultural conditioning, other people's opinions, and inaccurate conclusions you drew as a kid that became your beliefs about who you are. "Finding yourself" is actually returning to yourself. An unlearning, an excavation, a remembering who you were before the world got its hands on you. - Emily McDowell
"real" and "fake" are not very useful concepts when it comes to identity. Rather, throw them both out and judge things based on usefulness, helpfulness, or just how comfortable or appropriate they feel to the person or persons in question. There will be a lot less stress and imposter syndrome.
The people who support Meritocracy are those who have power. They won't give it up easily, so we have to change it.
PSA about using social media safely, domestic abuse, stalking (-) Show more
Unless if you're personally familiar with AND trust someone who is posting a "missing person" flier to social media, or it's being posted by an organization that you trust, DO NOT REBLOG IT. Stalkers can use fake "missing person" fliers to dupe strangers into feeding the stalker constant updates on the victim's whereabouts.

So aparently, we have around 30 years before the biome breaks down due to insect extinction, but only 10 years or so before climate change is decompensated.
So what are you going to do? Sit down and cry? Or get up and fight?!
Technology, What I think Black Mirror is trying to say..but I'm not a mind reader, shades of politics Show more
Technology isn't inheritely evil, it's based on the enviroment it's used in.
If we have an enviroment where Bigotry, Selfishness, Greed, Egotism and Destruction are praised, then the uses will tend to that.
If we have an enviroment where Care, Selflessness, Kindness and Solidarity are praised, then the uses will, again, tend to that.
There's the thing. We do have the capabilitiy to be ethical in technology use, and rise against the systems that have repressed the better parts of our character.
So..what is it to be, then?
Why I try to help people up mentally, suicide idation mention, self-harm mention Show more
You might be a little confused as to why. I know it's easy to give in to despair and sadness, but it doesn't get you anywhere. How do I know this? I was there before.
Many years, maybe a decade or more before I came here, I was in a very bad place, thanks to bullying. Thoughts of self-harm and suicide were strong, and as a result, I was close to almost ending it all.
How did I manage to get out? I don't know for sure, but I'm not prepared to go down easily. Go down fighting. Never give up, never give in!
Well, call me weird, but..this needs to be a thing!
Geez, I'm really sorry about that. That sounded like a NASCAR driver there, who always seems to be directing their ire to Kyle Busch for some reason or another.
It's under a CW, so..I'm not too worried about that.

This orange idiot even managed to run an MMA company into the ground, and people think he's fit to run a country?
He will certainly run it and the planet, alright..into the smoulding, radioactive ground!
Microsoft, making positive changes Show more
I've already binned my MS account. I'm starting to make changes to reduce my relience on them.
I haven't heard anything about them breaking away from ICE, so I'm going to make a guess that they're still down for it.
Some of my games may still rely on Windows, but..the less I have to use it, the better.
