mirrors, dolls, talking about fears but extremely silly
Two silly things I'm scared of:
Despite the first, I actually collect dolls and other toys. I had a grandma that would gift them to my sister and I for every gift-giving day. Her house was full of them. I mean, like, *really*, they were everywhere. The few times we stayed over we had to take the dolls out of the bed and set them against the wall and deal with their wide glassy eyes staring at us like "hey, that's our spot!" XD
So I guess I got used to it after awhile and developed a fascination with dolls that matches or even exceeds the fear. Granted, the ones I collect are more Barbie style things with non-moving painted-on-plastic eyes, the more traditional baby doll things with the glassy eyes are in storage, tyvm.
So dolls are kind of mostly-ok-sometimes-spooky for me now.
Mirrors, though. Ugh, mirrors. I've lost so much sleep from times I had to spend the night in a darkened room with a mirror. Sleep is impossible in this situation. Literally cannot.
Apart from the bathroom mirrors and such that came with the house, I just have one tiny mirror I use for styling/cutting my hair and stuff like that. Otherwise I avoid them at all costs. So until this morning I never knew the horror of..
DOLLS *IN* A MIRROR!
Again, they're just Monster High dolls and Funko Pop figures, so not the extreme horror it *could* have been. But wow it made me extra glad I've always avoided mirrors and never had one around to accidentally catch the actually scary dolls in one out of the corner of my eye!
