I have rented a bunch of things from Scarecrow over the past few years. "Pan's Labyrinth" is the first time I’ve felt any desire to watch it again with the commentary track before taking it back.
There is a bunch of really gorgeous visual storytelling in this film and I was delighted to hear Del Toro talk about how and why he made the choices he did. Usually I don’t give a damn, I know too much about why people would make these choices. But this one had some very interesting things going on that didn’t feel like anything else.
