I am listening to one of William Orbit’s “Strange Cargo” albums and, as I often do, I am wondering if the initial meeting between Insomniac Games and Stuart Copeland about the music for Spyro saw Stuart going home with a CD of the Strange Cargo selections they’d been using as placeholder music while developing the game.

(Strange Cargo 1: 1987, 2: 1990, 3:1993, Hinterlands: 1995; Spyro 1: 1998. It’s eminently possible for Insomniac to have been chilling out to these laid-back electronic tracks full of bells and fizzy guitars.)
