Absinthe was roughed out on paper, and finished in Illustrator with the pen tool and a starkly limited palette.
Parallax is drawn entirely in Illustrator, with the pencil tool and a whole lot of graphic styles that let me draw complex characters quickly.
I don't have any hard numbers on how long a typical Absinthe panel took to draw but I am quite sure it was a lot longer than a typical Parallax panel.
In the time between chapter 1 of Absinthe (33p) and chapters 1 of Parallax (~60p of ~90 total), I broke up with @zebratron2084, drew a Tarot deck (96 cards around 2007-8), did almost 200p of Decrypting Rita (2012-2015), and two cross-country moves (BostonSeattleNew Orleans). Also a few short comics here and there.
Also an assortment of standalone drawings, mostly furry smut. Also about a year being sad and useless after my mother died.
Also while I am digging through old stuff here is a piece I did for the Rainfurrest GOH sketchbook after I was the 2014 GOH and a couple of the reference photos I took to help work out the underlit cat-lady.
@anthracite @zebratron2084 You do know yours is the only deck my ex-GF particularly likes and uses, right?
I have heard of other people who do that and it both amazes and frightens me!
