I know a drawing is turning serious when I start actually working out perspective. Admittedly it's based on a photo of someone looking at herself in the mirror so I had a lot of the work already done for me; human legs don't bend the way dragon legs do, though!
I've internalized this kind of stuff for common angles on body plans I draw regularly. But it's good to know how to do it from first principles when you gotta.
(I started this a few days ago and have been poking at it here and there for a while. Still not 100% happy with the reflected legs. Might just see if I can fix it in the color phase at this point, though.)
