what if I spent today doing some web dev stuff on Parallax
*starts up the local dev copy of the website*
*stares dumbly at it*
*goes back to hacker news for a while*
@Triplefox In general I'm spending time on this particular project drawing comics pages, instead of fooling with web stuff. I was hoping to have a decent excuse to put off drawing some complex stuff today by doing web stuff but kicking Wordpress into doing what I want here is gonna be more work than I really feel like putting into it right now...
@anthracite explaining the manner of your procrastination, a time honored procrastination technique
@anthracite Then you can read about JavaScript until your eyes are DRY, go back and add all hundred untested frameworks, and then cry as you rip them out again?
@chalcedony god no, I'd rather keep on dealing with the steaming pile of PHP that is my website. It's a big mess of Wordpress and assorted plugins and custom styles and it could probably be done much more elegantly but I'd have to spend weeks, if not more, getting everything looking good again.
@anthracite You could spend those weeks procrastinating on the actual work though! ^..^
</bad-idea>
okay that's two hours wasted fiddling around with the Parallax website to no real useful end, I think I'm just gonna say "fuck it" and make myself spend some time drawing complicated stuff I was hoping to put off by doing this instead...
@anthracite i have a revised website that is stuck at "have selected a premade template and got it building"
